Biography

Eric Anderson and his son Eric Anderson Jr.

Eric Anderson and his son Eric Anderson Jr.

Growing up in a rough neighborhood, Eric Anderson came to prison at an early age of 16 years old and was released at the age of 27 years old. The culture of prison at that time which was in 1990 was volatile and heinous for an African American man in the Department of Corrections in the State of Florida. Their was no standard for rehabilitation or any adjustment programs to help Eric in his time of need to help turn his life around. A stigma or stereotype was attached to his character which followed him once his release came in May 30, 2001. After returning back to the same environment, Eric was constantly harassed by the Clearwater Police Department regarding any criminal activity in the area he lived due to his unstable childhood background and his previous stint in prison. This standard of being a felon with no help from family at the time or any government assistance made it hard for Eric to even attain a job or education of any kind. Living in a poverished society with no access to any federal programs or grants made it hard for Eric to better his life in Pinellas County, Florida. Eric helped produce a young, handsome, intelligent son on April, 2003. This is the only blessing that came from such dark times in Eric's life. Between working odd jobs to maintain some semblance of life, the police department in Clearwater was trying to find a way to solve multiple umsolved crimes at this time. It was reported that it was 27 unsolved cases involving Aggravated Battery and Burglary being committed in Clearwater, FL. With the investigators being pressured to bring these cases to a closure, the central idea was created to create a "scapegoat" who though innocent, could be the fall guy for these charges. Unfortunately, that role was fallen upon Mr. Eric Anderson. Initially, Mr. Anderson was sequestered via phone call to report to the Clearwater Police Department on August 30th, 2002, by investigators Clarence Calloway and Steven Bohlin. The topic of the conversation regarded crimes allegedly committed by Mr. Anderson involving Aggravated Battery, Burglary, Sale of Illegal Narcotics, etc... Mr. Anderson, alongside his mother and sister, went forth to the police department to speak and cooperate with investigators on this situation. Eric was questioned about these crimes and was charged and booked at the local county jail after defending hiself in statements saying, "I am not the man you are looking for." Eric sat in the county jail for 30 days before all initial charges were dismissed and was given a reasonable bond on the few remaining charges that were upheld. Upon his release, Eric was charged and framed into a horrible crime committed around May 7th, 2002. A murder was done by an individual who more than likely still walks the streets of Clearwater while Mr. Anderson was being charged for 1st Degree Murder.
